Congratulations to the winners of the ER IPT HACK_2023 hackathon

At the hackathon ER IPT HACK_2023 in the Earth Intelligence track, the BrokeFreelancer team won, which consisted of only 1 participant – student Davyd Gavrylenka from Educational and Research Institute of Physics and Technology NTUU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, acting as the ideologist of problem solving (ChatGPT is currently acting as a coder).
The hackathon ER IPT HACK_2023 was held from May 12 to 21, 2023 with the support of Hackathon Expert Group for the 125th anniversary of NTUU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. The Department of Mathematical Modeling and Data Analysis joined the hackathon with the task of monitoring the condition of forests using satellite data (a task from the European SWIFTT project).
Of the 18 teams that chose the task of monitoring the forest using satellite data, four reached the finals – these are the teams “BrokeFreelancer” (students of ERIPT) and “SWIFTTers” (students of ERIPTand members of the applied mathematics circle), “Moglabutikrascha” (teachers and students of engineering chemistry faculty of KPI), and the team “Lisovyky” (students are currently studying at the University of Vienna).
All 4 finalist teams proposed brilliant solutions based on machine and deep learning models.
All finalists showed creativity and deep knowledge in data analysis and in a short period of time were able to grasp the topic of using satellite monitoring for forests from scratch and show a worthy result.
