The Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) “Science for the Recovery of Ukraine” is a strategic initiative bringing together the global Earth observation and artificial intelligence communities to address one of our era's most pressing humanitarian and reconstruction challenges. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are honored to invite you to attend this landmark workshop to be held in Strasbourg, France, on 3–5 February 2026.

The theme of the workshop is Science and Technology for Ukraine's Recovery and Resilience. The workshop will consolidate leading efforts in Earth Observation, satellite technologies, and Artificial Intelligence to support Ukraine's reconstruction and long-term resilience. It will bring together scientists, policymakers, and representatives of international organizations to define strategic directions and coordinate collaborative actions in this critical domain.

The workshop will provide an exceptional platform for its participants through focused technical sessions and strategic discussions. Key objectives include defining priority tasks for EO and AI applications in Ukraine's recovery, harmonizing satellite-based monitoring technologies and digital platforms for operational deployment, strengthening collaboration between Ukrainian authorities and international institutions, and developing policy recommendations toward establishing a Center of Excellence in Earth Intelligence for Ukraine. The outcomes will include a concrete implementation roadmap, collaborative research plans, and comprehensive proceedings to enable long-term cooperation and impact.

As the seat of the European Parliament and a symbol of international cooperation, Strasbourg is a historic multicultural city with remarkable architecture, renowned museums, excellent dining, and convenient connections throughout Europe. The workshop will be hosted at the University of Strasbourg, a prestigious academic institution with world-class facilities. Participation in this workshop will be a meaningful contribution to scientific innovation for humanitarian impact.
