Description

In 2020, the European Union adopted the "Digital Decade" strategy, guiding digitalization through 2030 and prioritizing sustainable development in rural areas. Ukraine, as an agrarian country with a European development trajectory, has likewise identified the digitalization and sustainable planning of rural areas as a strategic priority.

Project Goal: Develop methodology and information technologies for geospatial analysis and planning of rural areas and communities. This will leverage satellite, geospatial, and socio-economic data, incorporating climate change impacts, ecological conditions, and regional economic and infrastructure characteristics.

Key Components:
  • Cloud-Based Implementation: The developed information technologies will be hosted in a cloud environment, ensuring accessibility and scalability.
  • Interactive Dashboard: Analysis results will be displayed on a dashboard, using open-source software, and tested on pilot areas. This dashboard will support decision-making in rural development and community planning.
  • Scalability and Integration: The system will offer interfaces for integration with other geoinformation systems and allow for expansion across Ukraine’s entire territory.

This project aims to become a critical tool for advancing digitalization and sustainable development across Ukraine’s rural communities.
