Discussion Platform: Science for Recovery and Sustainability

Uniting Knowledge for a Better Future

The discussion platform “Science for Recovery and Sustainable Development” is initiated by the University of Maryland (UMD) and NTUU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” in partnership with leading institutions and projects from the USA and Ukraine, with the support by NASA and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The platform aims to bring together scientists and students from Ukraine and the USA to collaboratively address pressing challenges related to Ukraine’s post-war recovery, resource management, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development.
The initiative includes a series of webinars and discussions focusing on recovery strategies, climate adaptation, and sustainable development, utilizing big data, satellite monitoring tools, artificial intelligence, and modeling. The topics of the meetings will be determined based on community discussions and the assessment of needs and interests. We will explore diverse subjects with invited speakers from Ukraine and other countries.
These discussions will form the foundation for educational initiatives, including the creation of courses in a Global Classroom format, and foster collaborative research projects aimed at solving critical issues of innovative and sustainable development.
