The work of our student Sofia Drozd won the absolute victory at the ACM Student Research Competition 2024

Master’s student of our department Sofia Drozd won the ACM Student Research Competition (SRC) as part of the international symposium ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (SAC2024)!
Her research “Detection of War-Caused Agricultural Field Damages Using Sentinel-2 Satellite Data with Machine Learning and Anomaly Detection”, conducted under the supervision of Professor Natalia Kussul, was recognized as the best among all works presented at the SRC, for which Sofia received a gold medal and monetary reward in the amount of $500.… Continue reading

Int20h hackathon results

The team of students of the MMDA department successfully performed at the Int20h hackathon and took 4th place! In the Data Science section, they managed to develop the perfect solution in 20 hours: splitting images into unlabeled clusters for learning, and generating averaged faces for the resulting clusters that reflect gender, ethnic groups, emotions, and even stylistic features such as glasses or makeup.… Continue reading
