On the official website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the forecast for this year’s harvest was published, based on the data that had been presented by the researchers of the MMDA Department at the Donor Coordination Council Meeting on July 12, 2022.
Using images from Earth remote sensing satellites Sentinel-2 and Planet, our scientists, together with their colleagues from the World Bank and the Joint Research Center (JRC), found a significant reduction in the area of early crops as a result of the war: for the country, this means a loss of at least 20%.
