The winners of the contest in 2023 were 15 nominees in 13 specified nominations. Among them is a graduate of our department, Mykola Lavreniuk, who works under the guidance of Nataliia Kussul.
He received a well-deserved award from the hands of the president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Zahorodnyi Anatoly Hlibovych.
Previously, Mykola was awarded the prize of young scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for the project “Methods and information technologies for georeferencing of satellite data”, the prize of the President of Ukraine for young scientists, received a scholarship of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for young scientists and a scholarship of the President of Ukraine for young scientists.
With the support of a DAAD scholarship, he completed an internship in Bonn, Germany. At the same time, he participates in many national and international projects, the results of which have been published in international journals and presented at international conferences.
Mykola is not only a scientist, but also an active participant in various machine learning competitions, where he demonstrates excellent results. In particular, he has 3 silver and 1 bronze medals on the Kaggle platform, and is among the top 1000 best specialists in machine and deep learning.
Also won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in 3 different competitions on the AICrowd platform. The last competition was held in 2023 for the best solution to the problem of semantic segmentation and depth detection from a drone photo for Amazon to help them solve the problem of understanding a 3D scene under a drone for their Amazon Prime Air automated package delivery project.
