Join Us for the Launch of the Discussion Platform: Science for Recovery and Sustainable Development

Our platform is initiated by the University of Maryland (UMD) and NTUU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”  in partnership with leading institutions and projects from the USA and Ukraine, with the support of NASA and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The platform aims to bring together scientists and students from Ukraine and the USA to address critical challenges related to Ukraine’s post-war recovery, resource management, climate adaptation, and sustainable development. For more information about the platform, follow the link.

Our first speaker and one of the platform’s initiators is Dr. Garik Gutman, Program Manager of NASA’s Land-Cover/Land-Use Change (LCLUC) initiative.

Overview of multispectral satellite missions for monitoring land cover and land use (urbanization, forests, and agriculture). Future plans and perspectives of NASA’s Earth remote sensing satellite missions (details).
