Mobile operator SoftBank and the Meteorological Association of Japan have launched an artificial intelligence (AI) customer forecasting service.

This system, which provides forecasts using smartphone data and weather information, helps in optimizing the business.

AI analyzes a wide variety of data, comparing it with past sales results, to predict the flow of customers for up to two weeks.

According to the companies, during tests conducted in pharmacies, this system showed 93% accuracy.

An employee of SoftBank said that the company wants to help improve business efficiency by ordering products based on demand and staffing schedules based on the number of customers.
