This year, specialists of our department have a big challenge – to collect ground data to build a classification map of types of agricultural crops. However, despite the external circumstances and the war, they successfully cope with it!
Good training of a neural network requires information about the type of crop grown in the field, and of course a time series of satellite information.
Our colleagues have some news from the fields:
1) Crops such as buckwheat, potatoes, and soybeans began to be grown much more in western Ukraine
2) Grain crops have already been partially harvested
3) Sunflowers and maize are already starting to bloom
4) Ukraine has very beautiful historical monuments and castles, especially against the background of endless fields.
