NATO Workshop – Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) “Science for the Recovery of Ukraine”

On February 3-5, 2026, the Department of MMDA ER IPT, together with the University of Maryland (UMD) in Strasbourg, is organizing the Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) “Science for the Recovery of Ukraine”, which aims to unite the global community (scientists, politicians and experts) on Earth observation and artificial intelligence for the recovery of the country.

Key objectives of the workshop:
– Identifying priority tasks for the application of satellite monitoring and AI in the reconstruction of Ukraine
– Harmonizing satellite monitoring technologies and digital platforms for operational deployment
– Strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian authorities and international institutions
– Developing policy recommendations for the establishment of a Center of Excellence in Earth Monitoring in Ukraine
