On October 11, 2022, a meeting of participants of the European WorldCereal project took place. For our department, this project became possible thanks to the Ukrainian-German Center of Key Competences (AIDA-TI), since Ukrainian institutions do not have the opportunity to directly participate in the projects of the European Space Agency.
At the meeting, European colleagues presented the current results of the project, in particular, the presented algorithm for building a map of cereal crops and corn for the territory of Ukraine for the historical years 2019-2021.
The contribution of the employees of the Department of Mathematical Modeling and Data Analysis in this project is the final stage – it is an assessment of the quality of the received products, because thanks to many years of experience in building their own classification maps throughout Ukraine, experts have reliable ground data, which were used to assess the accuracy of WorldCereal maps.
