Our work was presented at the international conference IGARSS 2024

Professor of our department Andrii Shelestov and 1st-year master’s student Sofiia Drozd presented 4 of our papers at the 2024 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS 2024), which took place on July 7-12, 2024 in Athens, Greece.

Two papers on “Features’ Selection for Forest State Classification Using Machine Learning on Satellite Data” (authors Yevhenii Salii, Volodymyr Kuzin, Alla Lavreniuk, Nataliia Kussul) and “A multimodal dataset for forest damage detection and machine learning” (authors Hanna Yailymova , Bohdan Yailymov, Yevhenii Salii, Volodymyr Kuzin, Andrii Odruzhenko, Serhii Sydorenko, Andrii Shelestov, Nataliia Kussul), were performed within the framework of the HORIZON Europe project “Satellites for Wilderness Inspection and Forest Threat Tracking” (SWIFTT) and were devoted to the use of machine learning in engineering signs for determining damaged forests based on satellite data, as well as forming a data set on the basis of which research was conducted.… Continue reading

Professors of our department, Natalia Kussul and Andriy Shelestov, were elected as representatives of Ukraine in the Horizon Europe program committees

The European Union’s Horizon Europe Framework Program for Research and Innovation is the largest EU program for funding science and innovation with a total budget of over 95.5 billion euros.

Participation in this program is important for Ukrainian scientists and innovators because it:

• allows them to use European instruments of competitive funding and grant support;

• provides conditions for joint research with EU member states;

• provides access to the research infrastructure of EU member states and contributes to the development of the material and technical base in Ukraine.… Continue reading

An introductory meeting of the German-Ukrainian DAAD DigiJED project took place

On September 12, at 16:00, an introductory meeting of the German-Ukrainian DAAD project DigiJED – Ukraine Digital: Ensuring Study Success in Times of Crisis from the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.

The following courses were discussed:

  • Distributed Systems & Network Programming;
  • ICT Security;
  • Machine Learning;
  • Creating Mobile apps with Android;
  • Computing resources for high-loaded services;
  • IoT and Embedded System Programming

Results of the German-Ukrainian DAAD project “DigiJED-​2: Digital Education with Joined Efforts” 2022 and development in 2023

The main goal of the DijiJED educational project is to support the educational process at Ukrainian universities under martial law. The project envisages the creation of a concept of collaborative digital learning in the field of information and communication technologies.
